“Through Struggle” is the second single from the metalcore band As I Lay Dying‘s third album Shadows Are Security.
The video for the song switches between the band performing the song in a small room (while giving a perfect example of their trademark synchronised headbanging) and a hermit-like man painstakingly working on some sort of mechanical device. He also occasionly watches the band perform from an air vent. As the song reaches it last few seconds, we discover what the man has been working on – a mechanical heart. He removes the smock he has been wearing to reveal an enormous hole in his chest. As the heart begins to beat, an EKG monitor – which has been still throughout begins to spike. The song then concludes.
